Dr. Petrungaro graduated Loyola University Dental School in 1986 and completed an independent study of Periodontics at the Welsh National Dental School in Wales, UK. He completed his residency in Periodontics and has a specialty certificate in addition to a Master’s of Science degree in Periodontics from Northwestern University Dental School. He is the former Coordinator of Implantology, Graduate Department of Periodontics, Northwestern University Dental School. Dr. Petrungaro has been in private practice of Periodontics and Implantology since 1988 and holds a license in Illinois and Washington State.

He is a fellow of the International & American College of Dentists, and a Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Dr. Petrungaro is world renowned for his diversified seminars and lectures on advanced periodontal, oral surgical, implant surgical & reconstructive, and digital dental procedures. He is also considered an expert in the treatment of severe maxillary atrophy, the use of zygomatic implants, management of previous failed implant procedures, and the rapidly growing field of metal free implant dentistry. In addition, he has authored 98 clinical articles covering subjects such as immediate restoration of dental implants, zygomatic implants, metal free implants, and using Platelet Rich Plasma and stem cell therapy to treat severe bone and tissue defects. Dr. Petrungaro has educated clinicians around the world for the last quarter century and continues to contribute to developments in technology and pave the way for more efficient methods of treatment for patients seeking to restore their missing teeth with dental implants.
